One-day class – 8 Hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm – Manteca Sportsmen’s, Inc – 30261 Airport Way, Manteca, CA, 95337
Prerequisites: Students must demonstrate safe firearm handling and possess a working knowledge of their rifle platform. Prior completion of a basic rifle course or equivalent experience is strongly recommended.
Course Description: The Trident Firearms Academy Intermediate Fighting Rifle Course is an intensive one day training program designed for shooters who have mastered the fundamentals and are ready to develop the skills necessary to effectively employ a semi-automatic rifle in a defensive or tactical environment.
This course focuses on the practical application of rifle skills rather than static marksmanship alone. Students will learn to efficiently run their rifle under time pressure, solve weapon-related problems, engage multiple targets, utilize cover, shoot from unconventional positions, and transition between rifle and handgun when appropriate.
Training emphasizes the integration of three critical elements:
- Gun Handling – Efficient operation of the rifle under stress.
- Marksmanship – Accurate shot placement at varying distances.
- Mindset – Decision making and problem solving in dynamic situations, as well as the introduction to the survival mindset.
Students will spend the majority of the day on the range developing and refining practical fighting rifle skills through structured drills and performance-based exercises.
